         Membranes differ in the degree of filtration:

        HydraCap ultrafiltration hollow fiber modules have the largest pores with a diameter of 1 to 0.05 microns and usually operate at pressures of 2-5 bar. They are used, for example, for post-purification of drinking tap water from colloidal and high-molecular contaminants, but the salt composition of the water remains practically unchanged.

         Nanofiltration membrane elements (ESNA series) have pores of 0.05-0.005 microns, they are used to soften water with increased hardness, and to remove heavy metal ions and organochlorine. The operating pressure of nanofiltration usually does not exceed 5-7 bar.

        Reverse osmosis membrane elements provide the deepest purification of water from impurities. They have pores with a diameter of less than 0.01 microns and operate at pressures from 100 to 1200 bar and allow deep water desalination. Reverse osmosis is used to obtain ultrapure water for industrial needs, as well as for the desalination of sea and brackish groundwater, and the degree of desalination (selectivity) reaches 99.8%.

       

        The main fields of application of membranes are:

          - Purification of water from surface sources for the needs of municipal water supply;

          - Obtaining ultrapure water for the pharmaceutical, food, and power industries;

          - Desalination of the sea and brackish waters for their use in water supply;

          - Multi-stage treatment of industrial and domestic wastewater;

          - Processing of raw materials in the food industry.

        HYDRANAUTICS has developed a program for the technological calculation of reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration and nanofiltration IMSDesign. Having loaded into the program the necessary information about the installation configuration, the composition of the source water, the permeate and concentrate yield, etc., it is possible to calculate the optimal hydraulic scheme, determine the number and brand of HYDRANAUTICS membrane elements, determine the chemical composition of treated water, and select the necessary pump equipment.
